Over the years, our company has experienced continuous expansion and growth, motivation, driven by the relentless efforts of our two founders, Mr. Wang Yung-Ching and Mr. Wang Yung-Tsai. The company's development direction
Our company focuses on innovative products and technologies, with R&D efforts directed towards process optimization, high-value product innovation, and circular economy. We have established an independent R&D center for high-end product innovation, integrated cross-departmental resources, and implemented a digital R&D management system. We actively develop Industry 4.0 and AI-driven intelligent production.
Main tasks of the R&D center
The R&D Center is organized into functional groups, including Planning, Instrumental Analysis, Polymers, Special Fine Chemical, Composite Material, Optoelectronics Material, and Inspection. Each group is assigned tasks based on their technical expertise to serve the R&D needs of various business units. These needs include the development of high-value products, process optimization, investigation of new technologies and markets, and evaluation of new fields and ventures.
Location of Our R&D center
Our center is located within the Shulin plant of Nan Ya Plastics Corporation. The address is No. 55, Wei-Wang Street, Shulin District, New Taipei City.
Research and Development Achievement Reward
To manage research and development projects for new products and production technologies, our company has established “Research and Development Management Regulations” and set up related computer system. The “R&D Personnel Achievement Award Regulations” specify rewards for key product development and patent licensing to encourage innovation and active research by our R&D staff, thereby enhancing the company's competitiveness. Additionally, to continuously improve production processes or efficiency, the company sets annual project improvement goals and implements computer-based operations for tracking, processing, and reminders.
Patent and Trademark Management Regulations and Achievements
In the management of patents and trademarks, to facilitate the application, examination, and progress monitoring of related cases, our company has established a “Patent and Trademark Management Computer System” to effectively track the progress of patent and trademark cases and handle matters such as timely extension of trademark exclusivity. In 2023, our company obtained 173 valid patent certificates and abandoned 22 patents that had expired or lacked practical value, bringing the total to 661 patents.
Trade secret management, relevant control regulations and measures
All employees are required to sign a confidentiality agreement, committing to keep all technical information or data obtained during or prior to their employment strictly confidential. Regardless of their employment status or whether they have signed a confidentiality agreement, employees must not use or disclose any such information without authorization. Upon the company's request or upon leaving the company, employees must immediately return all related technical data and must not retain any such information in any form. The 'Document Management Regulations' specifically define procedures for managing confidential documents. Patents or documents related to operational activities and technical matters must be handled according to these regulations. Such documents must not be taken outside, lent, or shown to others without authorization and must be properly stored. Requests for file access must include a summary and purpose, and be processed according to approval authority. Additionally, access control and document printing monitoring are implemented. To enhance employees' awareness of intellectual property rights, the company requires all employees to submit a 'Respect for Intellectual Property Rights Declaration' and participate in training courses on intellectual property regulations.

Can the R&D Center undertake external research projects?
The R&D Center currently serves only Nan Ya Plastics and its related subsidiaries and is not open to external projects.

In the field of plastic processing products, Nan Ya Plastics continuously develops new applications, new materials, environmentally friendly products, and products with special specifications to increase the proportion of differentiated and high-value products in production and sales.
Research Directions for Chemical Products
In the field of chemical products, the company aligns with the vertical integration in the Mailiao No.6 Naphtha Cracker Complex. Our products, including ethylene glycol (EG), bisphenol A (BPA), 1,4-butanediol (1,4BG), plasticizers, phthalic anhydride (PA), 2-ethylhexanol (2EH), and epoxy resin (EPOXY), are vertically integrated with upstream and downstream operations to form a complete supply chain. These products support the development of downstream industries such as polyester, electronics, and plastic processing.
Research Directions for Polyester Products
In the field of polyester products, in response to the growing global environmental awareness, we are actively engaged in the R&D of products related to recycling, circular economy, and green energy. This includes the recycling of PET bottles, marine waste, textiles, biodegradable materials, and green energy solutions. We are focusing on the development of fully recyclable polyester applications to enhance recycling efficiency, expand the application areas of fiber products, differentiate the market, broaden the sales scope, and drive further profit growth.
Research Directions for Electronic Materials
In the field of electronic materials, with the strengthening of new energy vehicle policies worldwide, the development of lithium batteries is expected to accelerate. Additionally, trends towards vehicle electrification and smart technology will drive increased demand for electronic materials and upstream raw materials. Nan Ya Plastics will leverage its advantages in vertical integration across the supply chain to adjust production and sales strategies. We are actively transforming and promoting differentiated products to increase the sales proportion of high-functionality base materials. By flexibly managing production capacity in Taiwan and Mainland China, we aim to drive continuous revenue and profit growth.
